What comes to your mind when you think of Puducherry? The only Indian state with French antecedents, a quaint, peaceful place, and a major tourist draw. Well, there’s more to it than that – it is a combination of many cultures and gives everyone enough space to do their own thing. Which is perhaps why this spunky, young lass – Maheswari Marimuthu has been riding a Bullet for the past ten years without anyone raising an eyebrow! She is an entrepreneur by profession and a rider by passion. She spoke exclusively to Solorider about her recent ride for a cause during the jallikattu agitation.

My brother was my first inspiration in riding. He only encouraged me in riding bikes. He helps me a lot in learning about bikes and cars. My father also encouraged me a lot because I lost my mom at the age of one. So I am the last child in my home and my dad’s pet. My dad always fulfills my wishes.

In Puducherry many foreigners ride bikes but not Indian girls. Everyone looks differently when I am riding the bike but everyone encouraged me in riding.

I didn’t face any issues from men; they also supported me in my riding activities. I participated in all ROYAL ENFIELD riding events in South India and Rider Mania in Goa. There also all men supported me.
